“Conductors” undertake a four year training course at specialist overseas training institutions, where they gain a qualification, which is recognized in New Zealand as equivalent to a New Zealand University degree.
In preparation for their dual roles of health professional and educator, Conductor training includes general studies, education, practical training and in depth study on subjects related to pedagogy, biology, and psychology, covering anatomy, physiology, paediatric studies, methods of rehabilitation, neuro-psychology among others.
“Conductors” work in partnership with other teachers, therapists and professionals who also support people with disabilities.
“Best decision I ever made! Her Conductor amazes me daily with her creativity, patience and genuine love”.
